DME Solutions is proud to celebrate the achievement of GBI Platinum Certification for Penang Hill Station (Phase 4 Redevelopment Project) — the highest rating under Malaysia’s Green Building Index (GBI).
As the Sustainability and Green Building Consultant for the project, DME Solutions worked closely with Penang Hill Corporation and the project team throughout the GBI certification journey, supporting the integration, assessment and documentation of sustainable design strategies towards achieving the Platinum target.
Completed and opened in February 2024, the redevelopment enhances visitor comfort, accessibility and movement while incorporating sustainability measures including solar photovoltaic systems, rainwater harvesting and resource-efficient design strategies.
Achieving GBI Platinum for a development within the unique environmental and operational context of Penang Hill represents an important milestone. It demonstrates how sustainability can be successfully integrated into tourism and public infrastructure while respecting the surrounding natural environment.
